Anyone else bothered that only a handful of states seem to matter in the election?

What it would feel like to be a supporter of the predestined state-wide loser in the U.S. Presidential election?

Does the winner-take-all approach discourage supporters of the minority candidate from showing up the polls?

It would seem better to have a system where the candidate who garners the most votes wins.  Is it time to eliminate the electoral college?
